[Design] Would You Rather?
I love to have fun with design questions! What this latest round has taught me is that I am SO indecisive! Some of these were super hard to choose from. If you have a question, I’d love to answer it! Send it to lou@loumarx.com.
1.Leather or velvet?
I feel like the contrast of leather and velvet is like cheese and crackers - they’re just so good together! But, if I had to choose only one, I think I’d go leather.
2.Home filled with art or with statement lighting?
Statement lighting, because that could also pass as art haha.
3.Concrete floors or carpets?
I’m obsessed with concrete floors!
4.Redesign your whole house every year, or do it once and never change it?
Haha well because I know what goes into designing a home, I feel like that would be an impossible task to do every year! I loooove the idea of designing with a ‘forever home’ approach but could I live in one place forever?? Probably not. That kind of commitment scares me quite frankly! But to design a home for the long-term and continuously curate it from a styling perspective is definitely more my kind of vibe.
5.Wallpaper or paint
If I had to choose one, I’d probably go with paint. It’s versatile but you can still be creative with it.
6.Endless natural light or perfectly curated furniture?
Definitely natural light! What natural light does to an interior, no amount of furniture could ever do (or maybe it could - I haven’t exactly tested that out lol). But natural light in a home offers so many benefits - not just in aesthetics but also in health. Furniture doesn’t always need to be curated perfectly, in fact some of the best interiors are a beautiful blend of contrast and mismatch which when done well, creates character and interest.
