The goal is to create balance - not overwhelm. For example, my bedroom is very small but still, I wanted a feature bed to make a splash. My thinking was - go big with the bed, and pare back on everything else.
I wanted an almost wall-to-wall curved head board to soak up the wall and create a visual centre-piece. Because of the enormity of the bed, I measured it out with painters tape first just to make sure we’d still have a walk-way around the bed. Plus, I wanted to see just how high up the wall the headboard would end up being.
My key point here is to measure your space well to ensure the bed will fit - circulation and flow in a room, especially a small room, is very important.
